House Key Houses

We have a mirror from Ikea (NISSEDAL) which comes with hinges so you can hide some key hooks on the wall behind it. I really like the idea but it only has space for an odd key, not a big bunch of keys. So I cut away part of the plasterboard wall and sunk in some bespoke boxed shelves. I designed it like a little house so it can be our ‘house key house’, complete with a little lollipop picket fence. I even made the kids one at a lower height for them to reach.

It’s a great way to keep valuables in a safe place. Just make sure you don’t publicise it on the internet so everyone knows they’re there.
