Living Room TV Redecoration

I wanted space for a bigger TV (I’ve upgraded from a 40″ to a 55″) but it wouldn’t fit in the alcove or above the fireplace so I decided to create a false wall instead. I made an MDF frame and clad it with plywood and then textured wallpaper over the top. There’s a gap behind the TV which is mounted on a wall bracket that connects to the side of the chimney breast so the TV can be moved. This acts as access for leads including some Philips hue LED strips that I hooked up to the back of the TV. I happened to find a unit that fit perfected alongside the fireplace. I sprayed the fireplace with some textured paint and created an illusion log pile made of wooden discs.
