I have over 15 years’ experience in Business Intelligence functions and I am currently Applications and Reporting Lead at Imagine Cruising, a travel provider specialising in unique cruise holidays.
After graduating in Maths from the University of Bath, I navigated a few Data Analyst roles before developing a particular interest in Data Visualisation while working at Virgin Media in the Business Intelligence team under Lasse Pedersen. Lasse left VM to form Intuita Consulting with Glenn Merritt and they brought me on as their first employee. In the 10+ years I worked for Intuita it grew to over 80 employees before I moved to Imagine Cruising.
I initially learnt my trade using a software called QlikView and subsequently with its sister tool Qlik Sense. Since then I have worked with a variety of BI tools, in particular Tableau and Power BI. I also heavily use various forms of SQL as part of the data development process to transform raw data into the required structure for reporting. As well as hands-on development, I also manage the business’ reporting strategy and govern best practices and standards to follow.
